New Improved Recipe! Our Forest Floor Mulch looks, smells and feels just like the forest floor! It is created from a blend of composted wood chips and ponderosa pine chips from NM forests, to which we add 10% of our Soilutions Compost, making it ideal for garden beds, tree wells, or anywhere your plants need an extra boost of nutrients. Forest Floor mulch ranges in length from 1/2" to 4".

Never thought I would love mulch but I love this mulch.
We are very pleased with this for topping off all the areas of our property that we keep covered with mulch. This batch seemed to have even less recycled material, which was an additional plus. Lastly, company has always been reliable and consistent. So, all A,A,As for Soilutions!
I was very pleased with the Forest Floor Mulch from Soilutions. Delivery was great. The product was very clean and having a bit of compost blended in seemed to help anchor it in place when spread. I raked back my old bark mulch which had thinned out over the years and then applied a layer of 3 inches or so on an area which I try to keep as a reminder of our trips into the forests of NM and CO. I have no desire to “deaden” the area with gravel! The last touch was to replace some weathered logs I’ve collected, as part of the mountain forest theme. I think it looks great and look forward to added weed suppression! I hope to order more Soilutions planting mixture when my garden beds are ready. As I tell all my gardening friends, Soilutions products are SO much better than the bagged stuff from the big box stores— and much less expensive!
The curse of the age is plastic pieces and its contamination---I guess there is no way around the fact that we have to pick it out if we want it out. I can do that as I fill pots or beds. No use to complain---we all did this when we allowed bags to fly or wouldn't stoop down to pick up a bag or flying pieces---it is laziness and no thought for tomorrow----sadly. The mulch is just gorgeous and we may need more after awhile.
Layed down Soilutions compost. Wonderful! Then mulch. After a few weeks a plant appeared. Thought it was a gourd but turned out to be a cantaloupe plant. It produced the best cantaloupe. I just picked one today. Juicy and so sweet. So fun and a wonderful surprise! Thank you for the wonderful products.
I was surprised at how easy it was to order the mulch online. Pick up had a minor glitch in that I think I chose a location that wasn't open on Saturdays, but the Soilutions folks were available immediately by phone that morning when I realized my error and quickly had my order ready at another location. I'm very happy with both the product and service. In fact, I'll be ordering more soon.
It was easy to pay for, and it was loaded in the back of a pick up with minimal wait time. When I spread it out at home, it began to rain, which was perfect as it dam into the mulch and it actually really smelled like a forest!
Didn’t give it a 5 star rating because of the trash in it, like plastic and foil.
