Red pecan shells are brought in directly from farmers in southern New Mexico and are a great way to celebrate New Mexico agriculture in style. Pecan shells are a great alternative to gravel in xeriscape design. Using pecan shells rather than volcanic rock can reduce evaporative moisture loss and may help keep your yard a little cooler during the hottest days of summer. Pecan Mulch is a sustainable alternative to red volcanic rock, gravel and other landscaping rock. It provides the same pop of color while helping nourish your soil and reducing evaporative moistures loss.

How to Use:
- Place a 4" layer of Pecan Much for any application that would otherwise call for colored rock, such as pathways, recreational areas and yard borders.
- Add a 2-4" to in-ground, raised bed gardens or in potted plants. Rose beds are a particularly popular application."

    Excellent service

    Soilutions delivered much more than the pecan shells I ordered.

    Antonio, the delivery technician and I noticed a problem with the load in his truck.

    We immediately stopped and I foolishly hurried to get a tool from my yard and immediately did a face plant on the sidewalk. Antonio immediately came to my aid.

    We finished the unloading with no problems.

    Great product

    I have been using pecan hulls from Soilutions for about 20 years. I usually fetch these with my pickup truck but this year I decided to have my 3 yards delivered. All went perfectly! Thank you.

    For those who have not used pecan hulls, they make a wonderful weed retarding ground cover. The initial color (red/orange) is very attractive although it bleaches in our intense sun. The main benefit is that it resists wind transfer although it will move downhill when exposed to strong flows of water. Since there is some nut residue in most loads this attracts pigeons although they get tired picking though the spread material after a few weeks. Overall, a great ground cover.

    The service was amazing...the mulch was delivered to a different address listed under my account (my mistake not to clarify the delivery address) but the soilutions delivery people picked up the mulch the next day and delivered it to me. In the snow and rain I must say. I thought the service was great.

    Excellent Alternative

    I bought the pecan shell mulch as I an older and knew it would be lighter weight to spread than conventional mulch, which it is. The photographs do not do justice to their color. It is not a strong red but a more mellow soft brown and now I appreciate it on that score as well.
