New Improved Recipe! Our Forest Floor Mulch looks, smells and feels just like the forest floor! It is created from a blend of composted wood chips and ponderosa pine chips from NM forests, to which we add 10% of our Soilutions Compost, making it ideal for garden beds, tree wells, or anywhere your plants need an extra boost of nutrients. Forest Floor mulch ranges in length from 1/2" to 4".

Mulch adds a beautiful layer to your soil that suppresses weeds, improves water retention and builds soil health. It also acts as a buffer against extreme temperature fluctuations, helping to insulate soil in the winter and protect from extreme heat in the summer.

Forest Floor Mulch can be used to beautify and protect your soil. The addition of Soilutions Compost to the mulch makes this mulch a favorite choice for vegetable gardens.

How to Use:
- Place a 2-4" layer over inground gardens, raised bed gardens and potted plants. Cover the entire area and pack tightly around base of plants.
- Create a pathway by adding a 4" layer to any outdoor recreational area for a beautiful, natural aesthetic.
- Insulate and nourish the roots of your trees by building a tree ring of Forest Floor Mulch. Starting about 2” from the trunk of your tree, add 2”-3” (depth) of mulch. Extend your tree ring to the natural drip line of the tree, which is the area under the outer circumference of the tree branches for best results."

Mulch is grand!

Super smooth ordering and delivery. Being retired now, I spent big chunks of four days to spread the mulch myself. Most went to cover and level up bare concrete-hard dirt spaces in between monster cottonwood tree roots. A bit challenging to wheel it in but a good workout. Grandmother Tree seems happy to have mulch between (but not covering over) her enormous toes! The rest covered a sad shrub bed and filled in hot dusty weedy spaces around front and back door stoops. Yes a few weeds and grass poke through but the appearance and cooling effect are a huge improvement. When this mulch eventually thins down and a new layer needs to be added I will likely try the native mulch.

Good mulch

I didn’t want large pieces of wood, so ordered this for the yard. Pretty much as described, though there were a fair number of big clumps of hard packed dirt (3-4 inches in diameter), which I was not a fan of. Took those out as I came across them. Not sure where my landscaper got the forest floor mulch he put on my yard 10 years ago, but it was a lot cleaner than this. This will probably be okay. Do have to say, Delivery was great. 👍

EXCELLENT MULCH!

We are very pleased with this for topping off all the areas of our property that we keep covered with mulch. This batch seemed to have even less recycled material, which was an additional plus. Lastly, company has always been reliable and consistent. So, all A,A,As for Soilutions!
