We've brought in one of our favorite tools for the garden- Insect Frass! Insect frass is recognized by the USDA and EPA as a safe an effective fertilizer for regenerative agriculture. Insect frass is one of the few sources of plant based chitin (kite - in) which makes it more easily available for plant uptake. Chitin creates an enzymatic response in plants, signalling to them to protect themselves from fungal and other pest dangers. Insect frass is NOT a pesticide and will NOT introduce pests into your garden, but it will help feed your plants and soil. Insect frass will not kill beneficial insects.
Application: 1 tablespoon per gallon of soil in potted plants. 1 pound per 50 square feet of garden beds.
Root Drench: Add up to 1/2 cup per gallon of water and soak for 24-72 hours, stirring occasionally. Can be combined with kelp meal and alfalfa meal for a super root drench.
Add 1 cup for every 15 gallons of water when brewing compost tea.
