Fish Bone Meal (4-14-0) is a safe source of organic Phosphorous and a little nitrogen along with calcium and other trace minerals. Fish bone meal helps root development which makes it an ideal amendment for establishing new growth and transplanting. Fish bone meal can be used all season long to replenish the soil as plants feed, and is ideal for carrots, potatoes and all root vegetables!
Suggested application:
2-3 pounds for every 100 square feet of growing area, or per cubic yard of soil, or 1/4-1/2 a cup per gallon of soil for containers. Add 1-2 tablespoons per gallon of soil for new container gardens and potted plants.
As a side dressing, scratch 2-3 tablespoons into the soil per plant month throughout growing season. Water thoroughly after application.
Fish Bone Meal is not water soluble and not a recommended additive for compost tea.
