Soilutions' Mediterranean Mix (formerly Potting Soil #3) was designed as a 'sponge' to hold water and keep it available when your plants need it without the worry of root rot. A blend of compost, pumice and composted woody materials, this blend is perfect for lavender, russian sage, succulents and cacti, or any plant that thrives in arid environments.  It works well as an amendment to aerate compacted soils or help water retention in sandy soils. When used as runoff points, soil sponges also help reduce water runoff and help filter out pollutants before they enter our waterways.

Suggested uses: Amendment before planting Lavender, Russian Sage, Succulents, cactus, native & desert adapted plants, nurseries, topsoil amendment.

Mediterranean mixed for East mountain caliche

Your team was great. The particular mix with pumice seems correct for the caliche in East mountains. Looking forward to it loosening this stuff up along with the pre-treatments, backhoe work and other organics I'm putting in. Look forward to planning some trees in spring after this sets for a bit. I may be getting that second truck load as we spoke about.
