Red pecan shells are brought in directly from farmers in southern New Mexico and are a great way to celebrate New Mexico agriculture in style. Pecan shells are a great alternative to gravel in xeriscape design. Using pecan shells rather than volcanic rock can reduce evaporative moisture loss and may help keep your yard a little cooler during the hottest days of summer. Municipal projects across New Mexico are replacing volcanic rock with pecan shells because of their advantages for sustainability, and you can too!

Suggested uses: Walkways, xeriscape, vegetable and flower gardens, soil amendment, driveways, landscape accents.

Great experience

I think the calculator online was a bit too generous and we ended up with an extra 1.5 yards of pecan mulch (7 delivered, only used 5.5). I'd say to maybe round down over round up. Overall delivery and quality was fantastic. I'd order again! But now we have extra mulch to use this next season!
