Reeve Residence

Project: Reeve Residence
Client: Reeve Family
Location: Corrales, NM

In the upper sand hills region of Corrales, drought conditions had killed more than 75% of the existing vegetation uphill of a residence, destabilizing the soil there. A major storm caused a storm flow that overwhelmed the existing protections, burying the rear of the property beneath 2 feet of sediment. Adaptive Terrain Systems re-channeled the water coming down the slope, reconstructed the slope geometry, and created a protective berm to deflect storm flow into a diversion drainage. We also constructed a terracing slope texture in the exposed rear of the property on an extremely steep slope so that rain falling there would irrigate rather than erode the garden that had been started at the bottom of the slope.
