Cerro Gordo Transformer
|Project:||Cerro Gordo Substation|
|Location:||Santa Fe, NM|
The Cerro Gordo substation in Santa Fe was situated at the confluence of four active drainages at the bottom of a sizeable watershed. Storm flow had deposited enough sediment to cause overtopping at the back wall of the substation, displacing the gravel insulation beneath the transformers and creating a pond inside the substation. We performed a detailed site analysis, and produced a remediation plan in which the least amount of earthwork would result in maximum benefit. Unfortunately the site burned down before work could commence on this project.
