Soilutions Organics Recycling Facility diverts and recycles organic material from the waste stream. When we recycle organic materials, we extend the life of municipal landfills, save tax money, reclaim a valuable resource and replenish the soil.  Organic recycling is an environmentally responsible alternative to landfills.

For years, Soilutions has focused on greenwaste recycling. In abundant supply, biologically diverse, and low in salt, the collection and processing of local greenwaste fits the goals and vision of the Soilutions. In September, 2007 Whole Foods Markets on Wyoming (and later the store on Carlisle) began recycling its food waste with us. Food waste in general is chock full of moisture and nitrogen, two things that we sorely lack in our southwest soils. These two ingredients in a landfill produce copious quantities of methane. In a compost pile, they reduce our water use and increase nutrient diversity.

Since Whole Foods Market began recycling with us, many other companies and individuals have followed suit. We not only provide the only local option to responsibly disposing commercial food waste, we also offer complete organics recycling consultation services designed to facilitate the logistics of switching from a landfill oriented solid waste program to a “green” recycling program. Services include staff training and hauling co-ordination. We also offer on-site monitoring, follow up consultations and weekly contamination reports. Our experience allows our customers to do what they do best without the hassle of wading through a swamp of alternatives. This insures a seamless, painless transition into the recycling world. In response to growing demand, Soilutions is now offering a pick-up service for organic waste producers. This service is designed to provide timely, economical service to companies that don’t produce enough weekly waste to warrant a large container.

Rates are based on the volume of waste produced each week and the number of regular scheduled pick-ups.
